Hello, my name is Carla Yamanaka—I'm the Mistress of Mizu.

I turned a dream into reality when I opened the doors of the original Mizu Salon (located 504 Ave. Alhambra, El Granada) in February 2006. I've been facinated with makeup since I was a young girl growing up in Hilo, Hawaii.

After a short detour at the Univerisity of Hawaii at Manoa I found California intriguing and somehow landed in San Jose. Here I attended Westgate Beauty College. Except for a momentary lapse in sanity (which landed me a B.S. in Finance from San Jose State) I've found Zen in the art of hair and makeup.
